1960s Chick Fight

Funny how old family movies can be treasures… it makes me wonder what images, if any, will be cherished by today’s kids. In all, there is less than 2 hours of quality movies of my family over a 15 year period (1966-1981). For my kids, I had a video camera, and took lots of everyday shots of them. Still, today videos are so easy to make that I don’t think many clips will become cherished memories like the one in this video has become for me and my family.

Under a minute long, yet such powerful memories are stirred by watching it for my family.

This is Riverside, Ca. Salerno Drive probably December 1969 (You can see the Christmas lights on the eaves of the garage. My grandparents moved from that house less than two years later.

I think my uncle Gary had gotten boxing gloves for Christmas. Not sure why my mom sparred with my aunt Judy, but glad she did. My grandma was probably 5 years younger in this video, than I am today. Too bad there is no sound, my dad must have been behind the camera – I can only imagine the things he was saying trying to egg on the fighters.
